Charcoal Drawing – A great way to get into drawing Loading

Charcoal drawings, a great way to get started in drawing. You will be surprised with how quickly you will be able to produce works of art that will wow everyone.

Recently, I have picked up drawing again and found that drawing with charcoal was something that I really enjoyed.  Plus the fact that charcoal produces a high contrast drawing that can make your drawing really stand out as opposed to pencil drawing. Couple this with white charcoal on gray or toned paper, you have the perfect mix of tools to create truly astonishing drawings that even you will be proud of.

Of course, I am not going to lecture on all the pitfalls of drawing such as the need to keep trying and not to focus on the details too early…you know what I mean.

Here are  few drawings that I did on toned, mixed media paper. The more I draw, the more I learn and the more expressive I can be with my drawings. I found learning techniques shouldn’t take too long as long as you pay attention to how the medium gets etched on paper. With this, I mean the strength of the charcoal, the blending etc.

Please post any questions in the comments below and I will be happy to answer all your questions.
